With the outrageous “selfie phenomenon,” it became clear to us very quickly that people…LOVE….taking photos of themselves!

As many of us have extensive marketing backgrounds, we began to ponder how we could utilize this compulsion to take selfies into a huge marketing and branding experience. Every night, there are countless events happening in the city, and with the Bay Area’s preponderance of tradeshows at our convention halls and Moscone Center, it was due time to develop a “photobooth” (and we use the term loosely) that would enable companies to take advantage of the selfie phenomenon.

While attendees and guests enjoyed themselves tremendously, it was also the perfect opportunity to use the attendees’ love of social media to become the company’s most powerful brand ambassadors.

Building QuickeeCam to integrate social media sharing activities within the platform was key. Then, upgrading the camera lens to be as high-definition as possible was also of importance, as nobody wants to share bad photographs. With events, hashtags are of great value, so building in the hashtags so that attendees would automatically use it instead of fumbling around to find it or ignoring it, was also of great value.

Put together, along with a lot of research & development, pain, sweat (and maybe a tear or two) — QuickeeCam was born.
